Army Chief General Bikram Singh today met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to brief him about the internal security situation in the country and the challenges faced by the Army.

In the two-hour-long meeting, General Singh also briefed the Prime Minister about the situation along the Line of Control (LoC) and the Line of Actual Control, India's border with China.

In the first major ceasefire violation along the LoC since the new government came to power, Pakistani troops opened fire in the Mendhar sector of Jammu and Kashmir this morning.
