Defence Minister Arun Jaitley has questioned his ministry officials over an affidavit on the Vice Chief of Army Chief Lt General Dalbir Suhag. The affidavit was filed in response to a plea challenging Suhag's appointment pointing out that former Army Chief and now minister in the government General VK Singh had initiated disciplinary and vigilance ban on him. The affidavit said that the ban against Suhag was without basis.

This had prompted the Congress to demand VK Singh's resignation - claiming that the petition was a vote of no-confidence against him. VK Singh himself had tweeted his displeasure - saying that the affidavit is an old one prepared under the UPA government. He has also accused Suhag of killing innocent people.
