Speak out India: Should candidate be barred from contesting on two seats?
Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav will not only seek reelection from Mainpuri but also fight the Lok Sabha polls from Azamgarh in eastern Uttar Pradesh, a move seen as a bid to minimize BJP's "gains" from Narendra Modi entering the fray from neighbouring Varanasi.

Yadav's candidature for Azamgarh was announced on Tuesday by party's national general secretary Ramgopal Yadav. Poorvanchal or eastern UP, with 29 Lok Sabha constituencies that vote on May 7 and May 12, is crucial to the Lok Sabha math of both the BJP and the SP.
