Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday met Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung over the Jan Lokpal Bill. He said that the Lt Governor has promised to consult the Law Ministry on the Bill.

The Lieutenant Governor has in his statement said that while the idea of the Jan Lokpal Bill is right, the due procedure has to be followed. "The Lieutenant Governor shares same values as Chief Minister to avoid corruption. The question is the need to follow procedures as mandated under the Constitution. Since the CM had written to the L-G indicating intent to introduce the Bill, the L-G had asked the Solicitor General to opine on the Constitutional validity," Najeeb Jung said in his statement.
