News X : Mumbai Building collapse kills 54, 1 arrested

The death toll in Mumbai building collapse on Friday has risen to 54 with 32 others injured. Rescue operations are still under way as several people are still feared to be trapped under the debris of the collapsed building.
Police arrested the owner of a decoration firm who illegally carried out renovation works at his rented office-cum-warehouse on the ground floor of the ill-fated structure.
It is suspected that the renovation and alteration works carried out on the ground floor led to the collapse of the four-storey building owned by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in Mazgaon area, police said. Part of the ground floor had been leased out for commercial activities.
