Rahul Gandhi suddenly paratrooped into a press conference and declaimed that the ordinance backed by his party and promulgated by his government must be torn up and scrapped because it was non-sensensical.
While Rahul distanced himself and the Congress on moral grounds from an ordinance that was roundly seen as expedient, his intervention turned very quickly into a debtae.
The BJP was first off the block with a direct question which was whether Rahul's intervention was the result of a conscience call or was it a desperate political call?
