Breaking News: BJP Says- Congress government indulging in vendetta

NEW DELHI: The festering battle between generals has now spilled over into the political arena. The timing and motive behind the "leak" of an internal Army report, which blames a secret intelligence unit under previous chief General V K Singh for illegal operations, triggered a major BJP-Congress slugfest on Friday even as government tried to keep a safe distance from the snowballing controversy. The leaked report alleges an Army unit named Technical Support Division (TSD), which directly reported to Gen V K Singh till he retired on May 31 last year, misused secret intelligence funds to try toppling the Omar Abdullah government in J&K, scuttle the line of succession in the Army and use off-the-air interceptors to tap phones of top officials.
