Rajasthan Police has issued summons to controversial godman Asaram Bapu in connection with an allegation of sexual abuse levelled against him by a minor girl. The police has asked him to appear before August 30.
Sexual harassment case against Asaram Bapu resonated in the Parliament with MPs demanding stern action against the godman. The issue came up during the Zero Hour, when the house was discussing the progress of the probe in the recent Mumbai gangrape.
