VHP Yatra: Who gets to gain from VHP's Temple Yatra?

The bugle for next year's Lok Sabha elections has virtually been sounded by the BJP and the Samajwadi Party. This as they locked horns over the VHP's controversial Chaurasi Kosi Yatra that was "symbolically" launched in Ayodhya on Sunday.

Though the yatra fizzled out on the first day itself with the government clamping downtown senior VHP leaders and seers arresting at least 2000 activists.

Senior VHP leader Praveen Togadia has been remanded to judicial custody for 14 days and currently lodged in Etah Jail in Uttar Pradesh. The party has called for a nationwide bandh against the crackdown. Security Forces though claim that no work has been hampered and schools, shops are open no protests have been reported so far.
