The residents of Tughlakabad extension area on Friday burnt the effigy of chief minister Arvind Kejriwal over lack of water supply in the area.
Former Congress MLA, Shish Pal Singh, also accompnied the protesters by breaking earthen pots and raising slogans against the chief minister.
"Kejriwal's government is patting its own back on completion of 100 days, but they have forgotten that summer has arrived and people need water," said the former MLA. Claiming that the water supply is quite low, residents of Tughlakabad stated that the supply they get is not fit for drinking. "The water supply is pathetic, it comes once a week now. We are forced to buy water for drinking, what we are getting is not fit for drinking. Sometimes the water has worms," said Sangeeta, a housewife from Tughlakabad. In another incident, some people in Model Town protested over the issue of water crisis at the office of AAP MLA from Model Town, Akhilesh Pati Tripathi.
