Asaram Bapu to remain in jail

Self-styled godman Asaram Bapu will continue to remain in jail as the Supreme Court on Monday adjourned hearing on his bail plea.
The SC granted two weeks' time to Asaram's lawyer to look into report submitted by medical board consisting of AIIMS doctors.
According to medical report submitted in the Supreme Court, "Asaram does not need surgery, his ailments can be taken care of by medicines."
The apex court had directed AIIMS Director to set up a medical board to review medical reports and if required clinically examine Asaram to ascertain whether interim bail should be granted to him in Jodhpur rape case.
There are charges of rape, criminal conspiracy and other offences framed against Asaram by a Jodhpur court in connection with alleged sexual exploitation of a minor girl in his ashram in Jodhpur.
