108 Padma Awards have been approved for this year. The three awards - Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shree (take 3 win) are conferred for exceptional performances in a host of fields covering art, social work, industry, medicine and more. Among the winners this year... Scientist Professer Yash Pal and artist S Haidar Raza are two of 4 people being honoured with the Padma Vibhushan. Former actor Sharmila Tagore, Late Actor Rajesh Khanna, Boxer Mary Com and cricketer Rahul Dravid are among 24 Padma Bhushan awardees. And Actor Sridevi, VLCC founder Vandana Luthra and wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt are among 80 Padma Shri awardees. The awards announced ahead of Republic Day each year are conferred in March by the President.
