DMK against FDI in Tamil Nadu - NewsX

As the FDI feud fails to die, Congress sent its Union health and family welfare minister Ghulam Nabi Azad for an accord with DMK chief M Karunanidhi. Azad in the meeting tried to convince Karunanidhi on his party's stand on FDI. DMK being a key constituent of the ruling UPA government, had refused to clarify its stand on the decision to allow FDI in multi-brand retail and is still opposed to FDI as it would greatly affect retail traders in Tamil Nadu. The meet so was futile but Congress says a meeting will again be held to convince the DMK soon.
