This Diwali, increasing pollution levels might be playing spoilsport for Delhiites as smog levels show no signs of subsiding. There's still no let-up in the dense smog that has engulfed the capital since the end of last month...leaving Delhiites gasping for fresh air. Now, with Diwali round the corner, the lingering smog has heightened the danger of the cracker smoke adding up to the prevailing woes. While the desirable level of particulate matter is 100 microgram per cubic metre, Delhi's pollution levels are soaring between 500 and 900 microgram per cubic metre, that's a worrying 9 times the normal.
