In New York, Lower Manhattan is experiencing flooding and the flooded sub-stations are causing power outages. 2,50,000 homes in Manhattan are without power. At least 15 people are feared dead as a result of the storm. All three major airports in the New York area remain closed. Airlines say they are planning to reopen operations in Boston and Washington, D.C., but New York's airports will need a greater cleanup. President Barak Obama had declared emergenices in Massachusettes, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New york and New Jersey.
