A delegation of farmers from Punjab today met Congress president Sonia Gandhi to thank her for the government's decision to allow foreign direct investment in multi-brand retail. Members of the delegation said the move would benefit both farmers and consumers. Pointing out that the agriculture sector was passing through a grave period of crisis members of the delegation said the agri sector deserved the government's attention on a priority basis.
