Kudankulam protests: Police action unjustified, says report - NewsX

As the protests against Kudankulam nuclear power project continue in Tamil Nadu, a fact finding team that probed the handling of the protests by the state police has come out with startling revelations. The report highlights police atrocities against women and children which range from lathi-charging to booking false cases against protestors to intimidate them. The team said charging the protesters with sedition and waging war against the state was irrational such a crackdown had created "fear psychosis" in the area. The fact finding team, led by former High court judge Justice Kolse Patil believes that the Supreme Court and national human rights commission will take a suo-moto cognizance of this case and punish the erring officials..
