In a sensational claim, Uttar Pradesh DGP AL Banerjee on Saturday said rape of one of the two girls, who were found hanging from a tree in Katra Sadatganj village in Badaun,Uttar Pradesh, was not confirmed by forensic experts and that property could be a motive for the gruesome crime.
The shocking remarks came even as the preliminary investigations revealed that both girls were gang-raped.
Addressing a press conference here today, the UP DGP said, "I'm talking about the murder and there could be other motive behind it. Rape is not confirmed in case of one girl, but we are still examining the other."
"Badaun gang-rape can be a case of horror killing and arrested people can be innocent," Banerjee added.
The UP DGP further said that they are preparing for lie detector and Narco test on all accused involved in this horrific case.
