Sentence for Arun Gawli to be decided today - NewsX

The Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court, which on Friday convicted Arun Gulab Gawli and 11 others for the contract-killing of Shiv Sena corporator Kamlakar Jamsandekar, is set to decide the quantum of punishment on Monday. With the prosecution having aired intentions to argue for death penalty all eyes are on Monday's verdict. This is the first-ever conviction of the gangster-turned-politician, against whom 49 criminal cases have been registered over three decades. The sentence will be pronounced on Monday after the prosecution and defence arguments in the special court.
