Following a cabinet reshuffle in UPA, P Chidambaram has taken charge of the Finance Ministry, whereas Union Power Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde will replace Chidambaram and takeover the Home Ministry. Minister of Corporate Affairs Veerappa Moily will get additional charge of Power Ministry. Since the Finance Minister post had been kept vacant after Pranab Mukherjee resigned from the post owing to his competing in the Presidential election, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had to temporarily take charge of the Finance Ministry.
