As the race for Rashtrapati Bhavan gathers steam, now its the turn of the Left parties to firm up their strategy for the upcoming Presidential elections. The meeting of the Left parties is underway in the capital. The Left parties have been maintaining that Congress must declare its candidate first, but they are also open to a consensus non-Congress secular name. The Left parties' meeting comes a day after PA Sangma met CPM General Secretary Prakash Karat to pitch his candidacy for the top job. But the CPM says no decision has been taken yet on Sangma.
