Center,States to meet over NCTC today - NewsX

The centre will today meet the Chief Ministers to arrive at a consensus over the National Counter Terrorism Centre.The Prime Minister and Home Minister will address the meeting. Various provisions of NCTC has been opposed by the Chief Ministers, specially those from non-Congress states. Their main contention, the provisions violate the federal structure. As a result of which, the Centre had put on hold the operationalisation of the NCTC from March 1.Even on the eve of the all important meeting, there was no indication that the Chief Ministers were softening their opposition.
