Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav who had promised law and order to be his top priority, has made controversial MLA Raja Bhaiya minister of prisons. Independent MLA Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiyya, who was jailed by previous Chief Minister Mayawati and there are eight pending criminal cases of attempt to murder, kidnapping & extortion., He is a fifth time member of the Assembly from Kunda. He will also be in charge of food and civil supplies despite charges of a multi-crore scam under his watch.
