Mukul Roy to replace Dinesh Trivedi as Rail Minister: Sources - NewsX

Mamata Banerjee had sent the letter to the PM on Wednesday right after the Railway Budget announced hike in fares. The PMO accepted Trivedi's resignation late on Wednesday night. Sources tell NewsX that MoS Shipping Mukul Roy will replace Dinesh Trivedi in Rail Ministry. Till such time as Mukul Roy comes over to assume charge of Railway Ministry, the current MoS Railways will hold charge.PM has accepted Mukul Roy's nomination despite having reservations about his abilities. Though the Congress is fretting over Mamata Banerjee's move, it says it is TMC's prerogative who the party nominates to which ministry.
