The diplomatic standoff between Italy and India over the killing of two Indian fishermen seemed to intensify. Italy is sending its junior foreign minister to see if the matter can't be resolved politically. On the other hand India is pressing ahead with its investigation. With the Kerala government constituting a special investigation team to look into the matter. Reports say the Italians want their two marines to be freed after paying compensation to the dead fishermen's families.
