Solicitor General offers to resign

Solicitor General Gopal Subramaniam has resigned but sources say that Law Minister Veerappa Moily hasn't accepted his resignation. They say that the Solicitor General was upset over the government's decision to seek a private lawyer to defend Kapil Sibal in the court over charges that he benefited Reliance Communication.
