Quota in promotions bill has been passed in Rajya Sabha with 206 votes in favour of the bill and 10 against it. The Rajya Sabha voted on the controversial 117th Constitution Amendment Bill 2012 that seeks to provide quota in promotion for SC and ST employees in government offices. The motion sailed through the Upper House with 206 ayes and 10 Nos.
