1 In the sixth stanza Arjuna says;
|| Na Chaitad Vidmah Kataranno Gariyo Ya-dva Jayema Yadi Va No Jayeyuh
Yaneva Hatva Na Jijivishamah Te' Vasthitah Pramukhe Dhartarashtrah ||
2 This stanza can be translated as;
We are not sure about what is preferable for us — conquering them or being conquered. We would not desire to live after slaying those sons of Dhritarashtra and still they have gathered before us on the battlefield.
3 The seventh stanza is as follows;
|| Karpanya-Doshopahata-Svabhavah Prcchami Tvam Dharma-Sammudha-Chetah
Yach-Chreyah Syannishchitam Bruhi Tanme Shisyaste'ham Shadhi Mam Tvam Prapannam ||
4 Here Arjuna states his confusion and requests for clarification. He says;
Now I am confused about my duty (the Dharma) and have lost all composure because of weakness. In this condition, I am asking you to kindly tell me what is the best thing to do. I am your disciple now with my soul surrendered unto you: please instruct me.
5 In the eighth stanza Arjuna says;
|| Na Hi Prapashyami Mamapanudyad Yach-Chhokam Uchchhosanam Indriyanam
Avapya Bhumavas-Apatnam-Riddham Rajyam Suranamapi Chadhipatyam ||
6 This can be roughly translated as;
Even after I achieve the unchallenged position of a prosperous ruler over the planet or supremacy of the heavenly demigods; I can’t find the means that can drive away this grief that is draining up my senses.
