1 Lemon is also widely recommended in Ayurveda for its benefits in curing common disorders



2 In Sanskrit, lemon is translated as "Nimbu phala" and its significance is not only limited till Ayurveda.



3 A section from the ancient mythology introduced a demon known by the name Nimbasura.



4 Demon Nimbasura was very strong as he had received the blessings and boons from both Lord Shiva and Lord Brahma.



5 Goddess Shakhambari killed the demon Nimbasura and brought an end to the scarcity.



6 Just before his death, Nimbasura realized the divinity of the goddess and desired to receive a place near her holy feet.



7 Goddess Shakhambari offered him the honor to adore her in the form of lemon, which is highly used as an offering.



8 Lemon is believed to be offered to Chandi Devi or Kali, to calm her intense anger.



9 It is also assumed by some that lemon helps in clearing any kind of negativity from a person life.
