Apsara Reddy becomes Cong’s first transgender office-bearer

Congress party appointed transgender activist Apsara Reddy as a national general secretary of its women's wing, the All India Mahila Congress making her the 134-year-old party's first transgender officebearer.While speaking to ANI Apsara Reddy said, “To do good for public, you have to be with a party which puts people first and not politics and I felt Congress was an amazing choice for me as a platform because Shri Rahul Gandhi ji is a young new age leader and he also has a great vision for India.”
