Italy and the EU agree a deal on the country's budget, averting a long expected crisis in the eurozone. After weeks of wrangling, the two parties have agreed to allow Italy to run a budget deficit of 2.04% next year. Italy had previously proposed increasing its deficit to 2.4%, which risked breaking spending rules.
