White House Advisor Says U.S.-China Trade Talks & Huawei Arrest Unrelated Events

According to a report by Reuters, on Friday, White House trade advisor Peter Navarro said that the US-China trade truce and the recent arrest of a top Huawei Technologies Co Ltd executive 'are two separate events' and called the timing of the two events is nothing more than a coincidence. In an interview on CNN, Navarro also stated that if the US and China failed to reach an agreement in the 90-day negotiating period, US officials would move forward with planned tariffs.
