A church has locked its nativity scene’s baby Jesus in a cage to send a message.

A Dedham, Massachusetts church has locked its nativity scene's baby Jesus in a cage to send a message on the way immigrants are being treated as they come into the US, reports WCVB. The scene also shows the three wise men behind a metal barrier marked "deportation" and includes a banner that read, "Peace on Earth?"  "Sixty-five million refugees worldwide seeking a better way of life and we were wondering what that might look like 2000 years ago if this family encountered the same dynamics that are taking place in our country right now," St. Susanna Parish's pastor Steve Josoma told WFXT. Not everyone is happy about the display, with resident Helen Watson saying to WBZ: "This is where you come to pray not to be preached at what you should think about politics."  "Christ was political, he was hung on a cross for making political statements and bucking authority and that's exactly why he died," Phil Mandeville, a member of the church community, noted.
