Meet the Chevrolet eCOPO Camaro Concept. This car is more than just a Camaro; It’s an electric vehicle that can hack it in the drag strip. This may sound funny, but soon you can hop into your Camaro and beat the competition in a drag race while reveling in the glorious sound of whining electric motors.

If there’s any way to make EV’s more fun, it’s to make an electric vehicle than go drag racing. Clever, right? Unlike the Chevy COPO muscle cars of yore, the eCOPO is based on the existing 2019 Chevy Camaro COPO but without the fire-breathing V8 gas motor.

Taking its place is an 800-volt battery pack and a pair of BorgWarner electric motors. The latter can crank out 700 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque. This lets the Chevy eCOPO concept blast the quarter-mile run in around nine seconds!

And since electric motors pump out maximum torque from virtually zero rpm, it seems the Chevy eCOPO concept is the electric car that gearheads are waiting for.
