Reference: On February 20, 1996, during a university assembly in which the reforms derived from the Law of Higher Education were debated, serious incidents were generated between students of the UNLP and the Buenos Aires Police. A brutal repression was unleashed on a large group of students of the National University of La Plata (UNLP) who demanded for the non-application of the Law of Higher Education (LES) voted in 1995, in full Menem government.
