Reference: On February 20, 1996, during a university assembly in which the reforms derived from the Higher Education Law were debated, serious incidents were generated between students of the UNLP and the Buenos Aires Police. A brutal repression was unleashed on a large group of students from the National University of La Plata (UNLP) who were claiming for the non-application of the Higher Education Law (LES) voted in 1995, in the middle of the Menemist government.
