Sabarimala gates reopen for all devotees for men and women of all ages
  • 5 years ago
Today is the second day of the Sabarimala shrine reopening for men and women of all ages. The shrine is open for the next 40 days. Several women along with activist Trupri Desai were stranded at Kochi airport as devotees of Lord Ayyappa decided to protest against their entry. The Kerala police had all measures in place but eventually couldn't help the women activists from leaving the airport to reach the shrine. Meanwhile, the CM has asked the people of Kerala to maintain peace in the state and allow the entry of women, based on the Supreme Court’s verdict. The temple board, which had welcomed the verdict, will be now filing for a petition in the apex court asking for more time to implement the order that allows women of all ages to enter the shrine.
