Firefighters get handle on 150-acre Sierra Fire in Fontana, California

Fire crews made progress on the Sierra Fire in Fontana, California on November 14, reaching 85 percent containment as of that afternoon.

The fire sparked at around 9:30 pm the night before, spreading quickly to 20 acres in about half an hour. Nearby structures were briefly threatened, and a roadway was shut to protect homes and other buildings.

No structures were burned and no mandatory evacuations were issued, authorities reported.
