US Dollar Hits 16 Month High

According to Reuters, the US dollar surged to a 16-month high compared to other currencies around the world.
The US dollar index rose by six-tenths of a percent, peaking at 97.52.
The dollar index hasn't been that high since mid-May, 2017.
But the euro fell eight-tenths of a percent against the dollar, down to $1.12.
Despite the dollar's rising strength, stocks on Wall Street were down.
By noon on Nov. 12th, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down almost 500-points, with the Nasdaq Composite losing 183-points, while the S&P 500 lost 45-points.
