100 years since the first world war

November 11, 2018 marked the 100th anniversary of the end of the first world war (1914-18). World leaders gathered in France to commemorate the signing of the armistice. A special ceremony was also held to pay tribute to the largest and longest-serving non-European labour contingent in the war: the Asian labourers.
