Dubai attempts setting world record on Diwali with LED diyas

A colourful display of lights shines through the centre of Dubai. It's part of this year's Diwali celebrations, the festival of lights observed by Hindus, Sikhs and Jains. This is an attempt at setting the world record for the most number of people holding LED lights in a relay. The organisers, Al Seef Meeras development, have given out small LED candle lights to the crowds. More than a thousand people have volunteered to participate. But after many practice runs, the attempt was disqualified for a lack of successive lighting.
