Three people, including a teenager, were arrested in Jhunjhunu, Jaipur on July 10 on the charges of beating a woman, plucking her hair and beating her with sticks after tying her with a tree.
A video the barbaric attack on July 6 began circulating on social media on Monday. In the video, a woman and three children are seen assaulting a woman while a boy is heard crying and asking the others to spare his mother.
Police say the woman seen being beaten with sticks and tied to a tree was protesting what she perceived was unauthorized tilling on her agricultural land. When she protested, family members of the other side attacked her.
