Sheriff's Deputy Killed During Bar Shooting

According to Reuters, a sheriff's deputy is among the dead after a gunman assaulted a Southern California bar.
Ventura County Sheriff Geoff Dean said the gunman killed 12 people at the Borderline Bar and Grill before apparently shooting himself.
Sergeant Ron Helus, who served with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office for 29 years, was shot by the gunman while entering the bar to confront him.
He died after being taken to a local hospital.
