Pittsburgh Synagogue Gunman Faces Over 500 Years in Prison A federal grand jury has indicted
Robert Bowers on a slew of
hate crime charges. The 46-year-old is suspected of murdering 11 people at a Pittsburgh Synagogue last Saturday morning. He also opened fire upon police officers arriving at the scene. A federal indictment says Bowers walked into the synagogue with multiple firearms and began
gunning down worshippers. Authorities have called the attack at the Tree of Life synagogue the worst anti-Semitic incident in U.S. history. Bowers currently faces either the
death penalty or a maximum sentence
of 535 years in jail.
