Holiday island Boracay reopens

The Philippines reopened its resort island of Boracay after a six-month closure to repair the damage inflicted by environmental pollution and unregulated development. The island is one of the top tourist attractions in the country – known for its white beaches and clear blue waters. Clean up and construction works are expected to continue through 2019, and until then, only about 19,000 tourists are allowed on the island daily.
