Youtube shuts down globally, sends world into chaos

YOUTUBE — October 16th — or 17th depending on where you live — a date which will live in infamy, because it's the day YouTube broke worldwide.

The YouTube website and app reportedly went down for users around the globe.
A whole bunch of errors slammed the service, like 500 internal server errors to "invalid response" errors.

Some users reported being hit with a redirect when they tried to access the YouTube homepage.
YouTube quickly hopped on Twitter to let everyone know they are working on the problem.
Users meanwhile quickly jumped on social media to report the issues, while news outlets worldwide were saved from a slow news day.

The sheer amount of YouTube dollars lost by creators worldwide during the outage will most likely run into the tens of dollars internationally.
In the end … YouTube technicians were finally able to get the service back online.
