How Much Fast Food Are Americans Eating? Fast food has become a major staple of the
standard American diet. A report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention details exactly how often Americans chow down on their favorite fast foods. From 2013 to 2016, 37% of U.S. adults opted for fast food on a random day. Cheryl Fryar, health statistician at the CDC Fast foods are typically
high in salt, fat, sugar
and calories. Consumption of excess fast foods
has been linked to obesity,
