'Almost Famous' Musical Officially Happening 'ET' recently confirmed that Cameron Crowe, the writer/director of 'Almost Famous,' is bringing the
cult classic to the musical stage. Tom Kitt will be in charge of the
music and Jeremy Herrin has
signed on to direct the production. The official announcement came days after Crowe took to Twitter, teasing some possible music for the venture. Though the film, released in 2000,
bombed at the box office, it was
nominated for four Academy Awards
and gained a large underground following. In 2017, Kate Hudson, who stars
in the film, talked about re-visiting
the movie with her son, Ryder Robinson. Kate Hudson, on 'Watch What Happens Live
With Andy Cohen' Don't hold your breath for Hudson to appear in a sequel though. The actress
said that it "would be fun. But I wouldn't
wanna touch that," according to 'ET.'
