Accordingly to Kazakh media, the reason for the situation was an initially minor family disagreement.

According to reports, the man's wife closed the door so her husband couldn't leave their flat. The man then asked his wife to let him go, or he would jump out through the window.

However, the woman didn't take the statement seriously and eventually, the man jumped out.

The footage shows him managing to to cling onto the window sill, but he then starts screaming, "I can't do it for long, let me in, I'm begging you." However, it took a couple of minutes for his wife to calm down and let him return to the flat.
