As Bengaluru continues to suffer mega traffic jams, does the I-T city need a total infrastructure overhaul?

More and more people are turning to private transport in Bengaluru with its vehicular population now touching a staggering figure of 75 Lakhs. The city is faced with crumbling infrastructure and a dearth of sufficient public transport. This exposes the govt's inability to provide public transport that is quick and reliable. People are demanding the kind of action that the govt took for its farm loan waiver to ensure the city is not permanently gridlocked. Some solutions are speeding up the Metro project and improving last-mile connectivity among many other things. The question is when will the govt do something substantial?
